Perth Brand Agency: Brand Strategy & Identity

Build the brand.

Maybe your business has 20 years behind it and branding that's been forgotten. Maybe you're launching with just a name and a favourite colour. Or maybe nobody outside the business can explain what you

do and nobody inside can agree either.

Brand takes time. Then it compounds.

Each campaign has something to build on.

The people you want to hire have already heard of you.

You stop re-explaining yourself in every room.

A brand that only lives in a guidelines document isn’t a brand. It’s a PDF.

We bring the people who know the business into the work, then give you a recommendation to respond to. You approve the strategy before creative development. Reviews happen at planned stages, with the reasoning attached. If feedback pulls the work away from the agreed position, we’ll say so.

Brand strategy

There's what your business does.
Then there's what people know it for.

The gap between the two can cost you customers, opportunities and growth. We uncover what people genuinely value about your business, what competitors are getting credit for and where your greatest opportunities lie. Then we build a strategy around what makes you worth choosing, giving your business a clear direction for what comes next.

Research & insight

Sometimes the most valuable thing about a business is the thing it barely talks about.

We speak to customers and the people behind the work, examine competitors and look at why business is won or lost.

We're looking for the overlooked strengths, unmet needs and assumptions worth challenging. The things that could change how your business competes.

Brand positioning

Being different is easy. Being different in a way that matters takes work.

We establish what your business should be known for, who it needs to matter to and what makes that position credible.

That means deciding what deserves attention, what to leave behind and where you have a genuine advantage.

A position that influences the customers you pursue, the value you offer and how you compete.

Brand platform

Your brand shouldn't need reinventing every time someone writes a pitch, launches a service or briefs a campaign.

We turn the strategy into a clear proposition, personality and set of messages that people across your business can use.

It gives everyone a shared understanding of what the brand stands for, with enough direction to make confident decisions and enough flexibility to make the brand their own.

Strategic brand management

Strategic brand management keeps materials consistent, helps the team use the identity and makes room for new services.

We review new material and help people apply the guidelines when the existing examples don't fit. Businesses change.

The brand needs to keep up.

We help your team decide what needs to evolve and what should stay recognisable. Support can include reviewing materials, developing new applications and updating the guidelines.

Looks like you. Sounds like you.

A brand can be beautifully designed and still do nothing to distinguish the business behind it.

We take what makes your business different and give it a look and voice that belongs unmistakably to you. Not a polished version of what everyone else in your industry is doing.

From typography, colour and photography to messaging and tone of voice, we develop the elements together, exploring how they work across your website, proposals, campaigns and everything in between.

The ambition is bigger than making things look good. It's creating something people will recognise as yours before they even see your name.

Messaging

A tender doesn't need to sound like a campaign.

But it shouldn't sound like a different company either.

We develop your brand's verbal identity, from tone of voice and writing style to the language you use to explain what you do. We consider how that voice changes depending on who you're speaking to and what you need to say.

Then we put it to work across real communications, including service descriptions, proposals, website copy and campaigns. You'll see how the same personality can come through without every piece of writing sounding identical.

Visual identity

An impressive logo on a blank page tells you very little about how an identity will perform.

We explore creative directions, then develop the typography, colour, photography, graphic elements and layouts that give your brand its visual character.

We test the design across the materials your business actually uses, from websites and presentations to signage, uniforms and campaigns. You'll see how the elements work together, where the identity has room to adapt and what needs refining before anything is rolled out.

Guidelines

Most of the people using your brand identity won't have been involved in creating it.

We provide clear guidelines covering visual design, tone of voice and how the different elements should be used together. You'll also receive approved artwork, relevant file formats, templates and examples developed around your business's needs.

We take your team through the identity, including how to adapt layouts, select imagery, prepare communications and brief external suppliers. The aim is to give people enough direction to produce good work without needing approval for every small design decision.

Brand architecture

What sits under your name matters as much as what it stands for.

As businesses grow, they add services, launch products, establish divisions and acquire other companies. But the way those offerings fit together isn't always clear to the people buying them.

We map your existing brands, products and services, examine how customers recognise and understand them, and identify where valuable reputations are being overlooked or connections are being lost.

From there, we develop a recommended brand structure. What belongs under the parent brand? What should stand independently? Where would an endorsement make sense? And where could bringing things together make the business stronger?

You'll get a clear brand hierarchy, recommendations for each part of the business and guidelines for introducing future products, services or acquisitions. We also show how that structure translates to your website, proposals, signage and other customer touchpoints.

So you're not left with a complicated diagram. You have a clear plan for how the different parts of your business should be presented, connected and recognised.

Working with us

How much actually needs to change?

An established business can outgrow its identity without losing the value of its reputation.

Blether looks at what customers already recognise, what's changed in the business and where the current brand is holding it back.

That might call for sharper messaging, a refreshed identity or a complete rethink. We'll show you what we'd keep, what we'd change and why.

Can we use exisitng work we've already paid for?

Of course. Bring us the research, strategy, creative concepts or half-finished project.

We'll look at what can be carried forward and where it needs attention. If your positioning is sound, we can get straight into developing the identity. If the design works but the messaging doesn't, we can focus on that.

Changing agencies shouldn't mean starting from scratch.

How does Blether work with our team?

We can take responsibility for an entire project or work alongside your marketing team on a specific challenge.

Some clients want to be involved in every creative review.
Others prefer to give us the brief and let us get on with it.

We'll agree on responsibilities, approvals and the level of involvement that suits your team. You stay across the decisions that matter without having to manage every detail.

What's included in the quote?

A brand strategy, a new identity and a complete rollout are three very different investments.

Your proposal will set out exactly what's included, from research and creative development to review rounds, final artwork and guidelines.

We'll also identify any separate costs for website development, signage, printing or production. That way, you can budget for getting the brand into the world, not just getting it designed.

We should talk.

Tell us a little about it.
